The University of Kisubi is a private university located in Kisubi, Uganda. Its origin dates back to when the Brothers of Christian Instruction of the Province of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus, Uganda, desire to respond to the growing need for higher education present in the Catholic ethos, which led them to conceive the idea of founding a University in Uganda.

In 2004, the brothers sought collaboration with the Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) to realize the project and a Memorandum of Understanding was signed on the 15th of August, which allowed the Brothers of Christain Instruction to establish Kisubi Brothers Centre of Uganda Martyrs University (KBUMU).

The National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), granted KBUMU a College status on March 27, 2009, and its name was changed to Kisubi Brothers University College (KBUC).

In the same light, in June 2015, KBUC was granted a provisional license by the NCHE to start operating as a full-fledged private university in Uganda under the name University of Kisubi (UniK).

The University of Kisubi subscribes to the teachings and practices of the Catholic tradition and holds as values service, creativity, responsibility, integrity, professionalism and teamwork.

UniK has a security office which works alongside with Kisubi police station officers to patrol the campus buildings and maintain law and order.

The university provides a library to its students, as well as electronic resources such as Ebscohost where students access ebooks, Academic Search Premier which provides full text for more than 4,600 journals, and the Education Resource Information Center (Eric) which provides access to education literature and resources.

The students also have access to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Xplore digital library, which provides 3,807,230 items like IEEE journals, transactions, letters, and magazines.
