Université des Montagnes (UdM) is a private institution located in Bangangté, Cameroon. Université des Montagnes (UdM) is a private institution located in Bangangté, Cameroon. The origin of the university was stirred up by the reflection of the state of higher education in Cameroon, which was initiated in the 1990s by people from different professional categories, brought together in the Association of Education and Development (AED). After a decade of maturation, the UdM became a reality in October 2000. From October 24 to November 3, 2011, the university hosted its first medical doctorate thesis jury, inaugurating the new academic supervision of its Faculty of Health Sciences by the Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, France.

The university has two campuses namely; Banekane Campus, and Mfetom Campus. UdM constitutes of two faculties; Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology and an Institute of African Studies, Social Sciences and Management. It counts over 3992 number of students. The university is affiliated to Université de Franche-Comté- France, University of Ferrara – Italy, and University of Yaoundé I. UdM has as a motto, Semper Altissime Ascendere, which means Always high up.

UdM campuses provide a library with more than 7000 reference books and lecture halls. The university offers equipped scientific and IT laboratories, an experimental farm, an arboretum, an orchard, and a pet centre. More so, the staff and students are provided with a restaurant and hostel. The Mountain University Clinic is UdM application clinic used by the students and staff, alongside with a well-equipped medical ambulance for emergencies. UdM is ranked the 10th best university in Cameroon according to Webometrics.  In 2005, UdM set up the first training course in biomedical engineering in Cameroon. The training in dentistry and veterinary medicine was opened in 2008, while the sector medical and health sciences were established in 2009, piloting in a first in the annals of health sciences training in Cameroon. UdM is the first university in Cameroon who is a member of the One Health Central and Eastern Africa (OHCEA), a network of 16 higher education institution from 7 African countries, that leads the change for the improvement of health and well-being of humans, animals and the protection of the environment. In 2018, a new complex known as Complexe des Métiers et des Formations des Montagnes (CMFM), which will focus on solar power, hydropower, wind power and biomass, was inaugurated at UdM campus by the Swiss AmbassadorUdM campuses provide a library with more than 7000 reference books and lecture halls. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
There are two ways for admissions into UdM.

i. Admission by Competitive Examination
Applicants applying to the university through the competitive examination will need the following:
An application form (to be completed) to be collected from the Deposit Centers or to download here.
A recent passport photo well stapled on request.
A photocopy of the birth certificate.
A photocopy of the Baccalaureate or GCE Advanced Level obtained in three subjects (biology, physics, chemistry or mathematics);
A photocopy of the Baccalaureate or GCE / AL transcript or pass statement;
Photocopies of the quarterly reports of the Terminale class;
The receipt for payment of the competition fees
An A4 size envelope bearing the candidate’s address.

ii. Admission on File Review
Applicants applying to the university ton file review will need the following:
An application form to download here.
A recent 4×4 Photo.
A photocopy of the birth certificate.
A photocopy of the Baccalaureate / GCE A-Level or equivalent.
A transcript of Bac / GCE A-Level.
An A4 envelope addressed to the candidate.
A receipt for payment of the file study fees.
Two letters of recommendation under seal from your teacher (for those who are not professionals.
A certificate of education for all years of post-Baccalaureate studies.
A transcript of all years of post-Baccalaureate studies.
A detailed post-baccalaureate teaching program validated by the home institution.

Bangangté is home to some educational institutions like the University of the Mountains and the Higher Institute of Technology and Business Studies (ISTEC).
