Rusangu University (RU) is a private university located in Monze, Zambia. RU establishment dates back when the endeavours of an American Missionary, William Harry Anderson who until 1903 was the principal of Solusi Mission, crossed over in the company of several African Adventists workers and established Rusangu Mission in 1905.
It was initially opened in 1975 as Rusanga Ministerial School and was the sole institution in the country that provided Ministerial training to most of the pastors serving the Zambian Adventist territory.
Its name was later changed to Zambia Adventist Seminary to broaden the scope for the theological training that was being offered. In 1997, the institution’s name was again changed to Zambia Adventist College due to its extended intended mission of incorporating other academic and professional disciplines in addition to theology.
In 2000, the college re-opened and began to run in-service theological programmes. Later in May 2003, the doors of Rusangu University were finally opened to their theology students. Ru has three campuses, Monze Campus being the main campus, Lusaka Campus, and Kitwe Campus.

Rusangu University has 3 campuses; Monze Campus, Lusaka Campus, and Kitwe Campus.
The university is ranked 13th best university in Zambia according to Webometrics. It aims at providing quality holistic Christian education at tertiary level to all who meet the university entry requirements and seeks to be a model Christian university in Africa. RU prepares students not only for professional careers but also equips them physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.
The university is affiliated to the Seventh-day Adventist Church and a member of the Association of African Universities.

It has an academic building, RU Media; radio and TV that enhance the students learning experience and improve their communication with the public, laboratories, accommodations, a library, sports centres and other administrative services.
In 2015, Zambia Sugar Plc injected K1.1 million into the construction of a nursing school at RU as part of its corporate social responsibilities.
