The Presbyterian University College, Ghana (PUCG) is a non-profit private university located in Abetifi-Kwahu, Ghana. It was established in November 2003 by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and inaugurated March 2004.
However, the original roots of its creation can be retraced to 1884 when the church founded the Basel Mission seminary which later became known as the Presbyterian Training College (PTC), Akropong.
At the time it was the second Higher Education Institute in West Africa after the Fourah Bay College in Sierra Leone. In 1996, the Synod ordered to upgrade PTC into a full-fledged university and in 1998, a committee was set up to study it. Everything went on as planned and in 2003, it was given accredited by the National Accreditation Board of Ghana.

PUCG has 5 main campuses spread across Ghana: Okwahu Campus, Akuapem Campus, Asante Akyem Campus, Tema Campus, Kumasi Campus. The institution is affiliated to the University of Ghana (UG), the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST­) and the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
Fully indulge into community services, the Presbyterian University College of Ghana has set its mission at designing and implementing relevant academic and professional programmes of teaching, research and outreach for the global population within the context of Christian ethics that produce holistic human development.

The Presbyterian University College, Ghana has adapted facilities that suit the use of both students and staff of all campuses. Amongst these facilities are a fully equipped library, university canteens and restaurants, sporting facilities, campus shuttles and a university health centre.
In 2019, the Chaplaincy Centre of the Presbyterian University College, Ghana (PUCG), Okwahu Campus donated some essential items to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the Atibie Government Hospital. In addition, PUCG also has an annual Quiz title which it organizes and it is competed by Senior High Schools in Ghana.

PUCG along the years have gathered some achievements to further boost their institutional profile. In 2017, PUCG was recognized as one of the most excelling schools at the universities National Quiz Competition. Later in 2018, PUCG won best athletic team at the Private Universities Sports Association of Ghana Games.

Undergraduate Admission Requirements
Applicants must have at least one of the following certificates
Must have passed in at least 6 SSSCE/GBCE subjects with a minimum of D grades and a total aggregate score of 24 or better.
Must have at least 6 WASSCE subjects with a minimum of C6 grades and a total aggregate score of 36 or better.
RSA III/ABEC/HND Applicants are also eligible to apply.

Mature Entry Requirements
Applicants under this scheme must be at least 25 years and above with relevant work experience.
Candidates must include birth certificates for proof of age.
Candidates must pass entrance examinations in English, mathematics and General paper/aptitude test.
*Age Requirements are mandatory for all applicants except for applicants in BSc. Nursing and BSc. Physician Assistance Programmes.
*Candidates are advised to visit the university website for specific campus and course requirements for admission into the Presbyterian University College.

Postgraduate Admission Requirements
Applicants must have a first degree (at least 2nd Class Lower) from a recognised university or equivalent institution.

Ghanaian applicants are expected to purchase an eVoucher from any branch of these banks (Agricultural Development Bank, Ecobank, Republic Bank, Universal Merchant Bank, Prudential Bank, CBG, GCB and Fidelity Bank). The cost of an eVoucher is GHS 100.
Applicants can also purchase the eVoucher using VISA and MTN Mobile Money.
The applicants are then expected to access the application link from the university website.
Enter the PIN and Serial Number on the eVoucher you purchased.
Complete the form.
Add all supporting documents.
Submit the form.

Abetifi is a small town in South Ghana and is the capital of the Kwahu East District. Oral history has it that Yaw Awere, an indigenous leader of the people of Abetifi settled in their present site alongside another indigene, Nana Kwabena Atia. Nana Kwabena settled on the hilly part of the region, now Kwahu.
It is widely believed that a warrior called Ohemen occupied and devastated the town of Yaw Awere, prompting it to be given the nickname “Ohemen a oyi amanfo” which means “Ohemen that settles in ruins”. Abetifi-Kwahu people were noted for their Business.
Their coastal settlement has equally allowed them to get involved in fishing as well as import and export of commodities, especially clothes. Abetifi-Kwahu. They are also into the cultivation and trading of Cocoa. Trading today remains one of the major activities of the Abetifi-Kwahu people. The town has an Annual Average Temperature which ranges between 35 °C and 20 °C.

The town boast of key eye-catching tourist attractions such as the Bruku shrine, the amazing looking gapping rock, the highest habitable point in the whole of Ghana, the Oworobong Waterfalls, the Padlock Rock, and the Seat of Paramountcy. Local authorities in the area also organizes an annual paragliding festival. The event holds every Easter Sundays, participated by seasoned pilots. This event often brings in thousands of people into the town.
