Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), is a public university located in Ondo State, Nigeria.
AAUA was first established in 1982 as Obamefi Awolowo University by the government of old Ondo State headed by late Chief Micheal Adekunle Ajasin before it was relocated to the new Ondo State in 1999, and its name was later changed to Adekunle Ajasin in 2014.

Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), is a public university located in Ondo State, Nigeria.
AAUA was first established in 1982 as Obamefi Awolowo University by the government of old Ondo State headed by late Chief Micheal Adekunle Ajasin before it was relocated to the new Ondo State in 1999, and its name was later changed to Adekunle Ajasin in 2014.

Adekunle Ajasin University has two campuses, AAUA Campus in Akungba-Akoko and the other campus in Ikare Akoko. The university counts over 21000 students. AAUA Faculty of Law takes pride in its dazzling performance being one of the best law Faculties in Nigeria and in Africa.
Adekunle Ajasin University is affiliated to the Association of African Universities and the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
The university aims at providing knowledge and skills for self-reliance in a conducive environment where teaching and research can take place. It holds a vision to be a foremost institution and a first-class university in research, knowledge, character, and service to humanity.

It is ranked the 10th best university in Nigeria according to Webometrics. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in diverse fields to the attainment of officially recognized degrees.
Adekunle Ajasin University houses numerous centres and institutes alongside with a lot of service facilities and utilities to facilitate the staff and students on campus. AAUA has an extensive library for research and study, accommodation for both staff and students, lecture halls and faculty buildings, a health centre and sporting facilities.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENT FOR UNDERGRADUATES
UTME Candidates
• Candidates must have reached the age of 16.
• Candidates must have at least 6 (six) “C” grades in their O’level results, in not more than one sitting. This must include English Language, Mathematics and three other subjects related to their course of study.
• Candidates must score at least 180 in JAMB UTME examination.
• Candidates must take AAUA post UTME screening examination and must perform very well in the examination(Depending on the course of study).
• Candidates must choose the correct subject combination for their courses.
• Finally, candidates must meet the stipulated cutoff marks for their courses to gain admission into the university.
**Candidates are advised to provide valid and active email addresses and phone numbers.
**Candidates who applied to study Mass Communication in AAUA during UTME are advised to change to other relevant courses/programme compatible with their JAMB and O’ Level subjects as AAUA will not be offering Mass Communication during the 2020/2021 Academic session.

Direct Entry Candidates
• Candidates must possess at least five (5) Credits in their O’level result. This must include English Language and Mathematics. However, two sitting result is not allowed.
• Candidates must have also reached the age of 16.
• Candidates are expected to get JAMB Directly entry form from JAMB to apply.
• Candidates should have any of the following certificates: OND, ND, NCE, IJMB, Cambridge A level, BSc, HND, ICAN.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT FOR POSTGRADUATES
Masters Degree Programme
• Candidates must possess a bachelors degree (not lower than Second Class (Honours) Lower Division) obtained from either Adekunle Ajasin University or any other University recognized by the Senate of the University.
**Candidates with a Postgraduate Diploma in the relevant discipline may be admitted.

Postgraduate Diploma
• Candidates should be holders of a Bachelor’s degree with minimum qualification of third class Division in any subject from a recognized University. OR
• Candidates must have an HND Passed at a minimum of Upper Credit from recognized University.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
• Candidates must have attained a minimum aggregate grade of 60% at the Master’s Degree level, provided the degree was obtained from either Adekunle Ajasin University or any other University recognized by Senate of the University.

Ondo State is a state located in Nigeria. It has an estimated population of about 3,460,877 inhabitants. Ondo State was created on February 3, 1976, from the former Western State which originally included the present Ekiti State that had split off in 1996.

The state capital of Ondo is Akure City. Ondo state has 18 local government and towns. It has a tropical wet and dry climate with a mean annual rainfall of about 1,500mm and 2,000mm and the temperature varies from 66°F to 91°F and rarely below that.

The major ethnic composition in Ondo states is the Yoruba with subgroups of Akoko, Akure, Ikale, IIaje, Ondo and Owo peoples. The main religion in Ondo state is Christianity, with the rest being Muslims and a few traditional worshipers.

Agriculture is the strength of the economy in Ondo state and it is Nigeria’s chief cocoa-producing state. It produces other crops like rice, yams, corn, coffee, taro, cassava, vegetables and fruits.

Ondo state has several landmarks like the Idanre Hills, Igbokoda Waterfront, Smoking Hills Golf Course, Araromi Beach and Owo Museum of Antiques. These are the beautiful point of interest that attracts a lot of people to Ondo state, not forgetting the Ikogosi hot spring.

Ondo state has a yearly festival every first week of December called the Ekimogun Festival which is to showcase their rich culture and tradition.

Ondo state houses several hospitals and clinics to cater for the health needs of its inhabitants. It also has an airport which is known as the Akure Airport which serves as a transportation means for people to travel in and out of the country.

Akure the state capital is rapidly emerging into a commercial and industrial centre. Ondo state is a home to some top and traditional industries that people get employed in like The Textile Mill, the Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub that has an Automobile Assembly Plant, Paper Mill Factory, Textile Company, largest Cassava to Ethanol Factory in Nigeria and the country’s first MDF Factory that produces high-density fibre and marine boards.

Ondo state is a beautiful state which is conducive for students as it houses several educational institutions like the Federal University of Technology, Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Ondo State University of Medical Sciences, Achievers University and Wesley University of Science and Technology.
