Course Rationale
It has been observed in recent times that insecurity and injustice is not just a local and national issue but also international. Currently the provision of security and justice is very challenging. Noteworthy is the putative complicity cases of security actors in conflict as in the case of the 1994 Rwanda Genocide, Congo, Somalia Conflict, 2007 / 2008 Post Election Violence and the Taliban Afghanistan War.
From the responses of those who are tasked with managing security and justice it has become apparent that the magnitude and complexities go beyond the competencies of those tasked with the management of the above mentioned crisis. It is imperative that universities and other institutions of higher learning be concerned.
In light of the above, Mount Kenya University has a taken the challenge to train a cadre of personnel with the requisite competencies in the area of justice and security management.
Why study the programme
