Development finance is a tool for people and institutions that want to influence development trends in an emerging market context and make large-scale changes that can positively impact quality of life.

MCom in Development Finance will give you the ability to conduct high-level research and engage in the policy decision-making process in development finance institutions, government, NGOs and the private sector.
You will gain a solid understanding of finance as applied in the international development context and the expertise to start initial investments that can thrive in economically challenging markets and provide sustainable outcomes
Students will be required to obtain 108 credits from compulsory courses, 12 credits from elective courses and 60 credits from their minor dissertation.
An NQF 8 qualification or equivalent qualification in Economics, Accounting, Finance, or other finance-related qualification with a strong quantitative background.
OR an NQF 8 qualification or equivalent qualification in non-finance related disciplines with at least 3 years’ finance-related experience with a strong quantitative background.
