Programme Overview

The course shall run over a minimum period of four (4) semesters and a maximum of twelve (12) semesters of 15 weeks each.
–  The course shall be by coursework and project.
– A course unit shall be defined as a total of sixty (60) contact hours of lectures, practicals or demonstrations and seminars, separately taken or in combination.
– Students shall be required to take a total of fifteen courses and a research project.
– The research project Shall be the equivalent of eight course units.

Admission Requirements

The common regulations of Master’s degree in all Faculties of the University of Nairobi will apply.
And applicants should be:
– Holders of a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB), Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM), Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) degree of the University of Nairobi or any other University recognized by the Senate.
– Holders of the following degrees at upper second class honours and above, of the University of Nairobi, or equivalent qualifications from a University recognized by the Senate of the University of Nairobi:

  1. BSc in Biochemistry
  2. BSc in Nursing
  3. BSc in Medical Laboratory Technology
  4. BSc in Anatomy
