Business administration as a course has been given due attention in organisations and companies because over 70% of them are concerned with their expenditures and incomes.
It is evident that most organisations, companies, government and non-government transactions can either excel or flop in their operations due to the way their transactions are conducted.
The scenario above came about as a result of the stereotype given to the business control processes that involve accounting, finance and banking. Some companies and organisations only engaged bookkeepers without fussing much about their academic credentials to deal with financial issues.
However, of recent accounting and financed have been acknowledged major means of achieving accountability and value for money in organisations as it also engages in contracting of services, auditing, control and other critical components.
The rapid growth of businesses and increasing transformations in the global economy has led to the increasing demand for accounting and finance specialists who can help companies and organizations strategize their accounting and control processes and thereby enable them function effectively.
Today accounting and finance is no longer considered an after-thought function but “key to corporate efficiency” and effective governance. The program addresses this worldwide growing demand for graduates with managerial capability in accounting, finance and banking.
Objectives of the Programme:
The Bachelors of Business administration program is designed to equip young prospective managers with the knowledge and skills needed to manage financial processes. Therefore, the key objectives of the course are:
– Train well-rounded and effective accounting, finance and banking specialists who are able to understand and respond to challenges within the business profession.
– To impart manager knowledge and skills needed to manage the accounting, finance and banking processes.
The Course targets among others the following:
– Professionals from the private and public sectors (Businesses, None and Government).
– Fresh applicants seeking specialized accounting, finance and banking career.
Vision: To be recognized and referenced as the foremost institution of higher learning in East Africa for those seeking studies in Business Administration with an emphasis on Finance and Accounting.
Mission: To generate and transmit knowledge as well as develop the skills and attitudes amongst our students that prepares them to be able to successfully manage the financial aspect of any company and at any level
Philosophy of the Programme: This program is designed to provide students with the general knowledge of business education and to prepare them for a role in business. For this particular course, there is a distinct emphasis on Finance and Accounting.
Candidates admitted to the programme must be holders of the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education ( UACE) or its equivalent, with at least two principal passes in the relevant subjects of which one principal pass should be in economics or accounting.
Holders of relevant diplomas in related subjects from Kampala International University or other recognised institutions are eligible for admission to the degree course.
Kampala International University admits 3 times in a year; in December/January, March/April and August/September.

The application fee is 50,000Ug.shs for both Ugandans and International students (non-Ugandans). For online applicants, the application fee is paid to the Finance Office when you report collecting the original admission.
Step 2: Complete the application forms clearly and enclose or attach the following:
– 3 photocopies of each ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level Secondary school result slips or equivalent [Diploma and Bachelor Degree] and three certified copies of transcripts of Bachelor and Master Degrees [postgraduate degrees].
– A photocopy of a receipt for payment for the application form.
– 3 recent passport size photographs.
– Photocopies of Birth Certificate/ National ID/ Passport
