Chemical Industries require analytical chemists to help produce high quality products. These analytical chemists act as quality control and quality assurance agents to monitor and inspect the standards of these products.
Bachelor of Science Analytical Chemistry provides a specialized approach with in-depth coverage of core techniques and methodologies needed for Chemical Analysis. It spans nearly all areas of Chemistry with a focus on the development of tools and methods for measurement of physical properties and the application of those techniques in qualitative and quantitative analyses.
– The programme takes 4 years
KCSE mean grade of C+ with a minimum grade of C+ in Chemistry/ Physical Science, Mathematics and in either Physics, Biology/ Biological Science or Geography or A-Level two principal passes and one subsidiary pass in the relevant subjects or relevant diploma from an institution approved by the University Senate
Application Guidelines:
**Applications should be made on prescribed forms obtainable from the MMU website (www.mmu.ac.ke) or the office of Corporate Affairs at MMU Main Campus OR the Director’s Office at MMU Nairobi CBD Campus located at Uniafric House, Fourth Floor, Loita Street, upon payment of a non-refundable application fee shown: CERTIFICATE = Kshs.500.00; DIPLOMA = Kshs.500.00; BACHELORS = Kshs.1000.00; MASTERS = Kshs.1500.00
Applicants should provide the following documents:
– Copy of National ID / Passport / Birth Certificate OR any other document(s) that can be used to identify the new Student.
– Copy of KCSE result slips/KCSE Certificate, Leaving Certificate and any other Academic transcripts (where applicable).
– 4 Coloured Passport Photos
– Medical Report
NOTE:
** The Multimedia University of Kenya has three intakes: January (Application Deadline = 19 November 2020), May (Application Deadline = March 2021) and September.
Graduates of analytical chemistry can work in government departments, quality control laboratories, research and development, pharmaceutical industry, water purification industry, wastewater management industry, forensic science, process design and product development, instrumental design industry, cement industry, tanning industry, fertilizer industry, plastics industry, consumer industry, textile industry, dyes and paints industry, glass industry as well as pulp and paper industry.

Tuition fee per year for Kenyan Students = Kshs 124,000
Tuition fee per year for International Students = Kshs 148,800
– Students from Countries in the East African Community (EAC), pay the same amount as Kenyan Students. The six countries in the East African Community include; Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.
– International students who are not in the East African Community (EAC), pay 20% more than the others for tuition fees.
NOTE:
All students must pay full fees on the reporting day. The payments will be in form of bank deposit slips with their full names and admission numbers written on them as they appear in their Letter of Offer.
