The programme trains students to undertake research, write reports and appraise investment alternatives within the micro and macroeconomic environments. Students can appreciate the human relations, and effects of public administration and strategic planning on accounting and organisations.
The programme has been accredited by the major accounting bodies in the world and graduates earn maximum exemptions. The programme is competitive, challenging and offers majority of interns to the Big4 and other employers in Ghana.
In today’s globalised world, the accounting profession is confronted with the challenge of coming out with measurement methods to quantify the economics of complex transactions associated with globalisation.
Business activities continue to expand rapidly beyond national borders and have assumed global dimensions. The increasing internationalisation of businesses and the growth of international capital markets coupled with the demand for more comparable accounting information across countries, have necessitated the need to bring the reporting practices of different countries into closer harmony with one another.
In response to these trends, there has been a massive drive for countrylevel adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) changing the landscape of reporting practices globally within the last decade.
